Boys Will Be Boys!

First Day of Cradle Roll

On Sunday, Carson participated in his first Bible class with his friends. Up until now, he has been going to class with us, but he has become quite the little talker! So...we decided to give it a shot in his own class, and the teachers said that he did great!

Yes, he is the youngest and the smallest for now!

I love how he has his little hands on the table waiting his turn!

Carson's First Swim

It is amazing the difference a day can make. Yesterday, the temperatures were in the 80's and today, the 50's. So, after sweating profusely yesterday while working in the yard, Pop heated up the hot tub so Carson could take his first swim. He LOVED it!! The two things that Carson loves the most is being outside and taking baths so when you mix water with being outside, we knew it was sure to please the little man! So, here are some pictures of our little guy in the big pool for the first time!

5 Months-Old

Well, it is hard to believe that our baby is 5 months-old. This has been such a fun month! Carson is such a joy to be around, and I am thankful for each and every day that I get to be his mommy. Here are some things about Carson this month...

-eats 6 times a day usually
-continues to take Prevacid 2x/day
-eats rice cereal 1x/day and he LOVES it!
-reaches for daddy's cup and brings it to his mouth like he is taking a drink.
-participates in family dinner time by sitting in Bumbo on table and holding onto his spoon or reaching for our cups and plates.
-sleeps in his bed swaddled for all naps and during the night.
-continues to use pacifier when he first goes to sleep
-naps anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the day.
-loves watching his mobile in his bed and cooing to it.
-attempts to carry on a conversation by cooing and then, waiting for a response.
-showers daddy with smiles when he gets home from work.
-demonstrates interest in faces by reaching for noses and mouths.
-rolls over from tummy to back frequently and back to tummy occasionally.
-loves light up toys and music.
-very interested in people.
-very alert and aware of those around him.
-loves being in exersaucer.
-showing less interest in swing.
-LOVES being outside.
-bringing the bottle to his mouth and holding it on the few occasions that he gets one.
-always has his hands in mouth and sometimes his feet, which he just found this month
-loves lying on his back and kicking his feet
-loves bathtime and holding onto the cup while getting washed
-loves having all of his clothes off.

Now for the pictures! Enjoy!

Carson's first bite of rice cereal. He wasn't sure about the first couple of bites, but now he can't get enough!

Sweet smile!

Did I mention that he is intrigued by the t.v.? For that very reason, the t.v. stays off most of the day.

Well, we tried to measure how tall he was at Granna's school, but her chart is just a little off.

4 Month Doctor's Appointment

Today, Carson had his 4-month checkup. He weighed in at 12 lbs, 1 oz and was 24 1/2 inches tall. He continues to be on the smaller size as far as weight, but the doctor said he is as healthy as can be! He received three shots in his legs, but he handled it like a big boy. He also received one vaccination orally, which he was not too fond of! We thank God for the blessing of having a healthy boy!

4 Months Old Already?

Today, our little man, Carson, turns the big 4 months-old. I am so thankful that I have been able to stay home these first four months with him. I can't imagine missing one single moment thus far! Those smiles and laughs are contagious! Carson is the happiest little guy! Carson is babbling all of the time. He is producing a variety of vowels and some consonants. He was even observed saying "da" for the first time a few weeks ago. Carson is still loving those hands. He is constantly trying to eat them and has recently started sucking his thumb again. One of my favorite things this month is that Carson is getting interested in toys. He uses those hands to bat at objects, to hold on to toys, and to bring objects to his mouth. Two of Carson's favorite things are being outside and taking baths. We look forward to the summertime of introducing him to the swimming pool! Unfortunately, his other favorite thing is watching tv. As I am writing this right now, he is laying on the floor facing away from the tv but turning his eyes and head up to see the tv.

Carson, we love you so much! You are our sunshine. You bring us love and joy that I never could have possibly imagined. I thank God that I get to be your mom. What a blessing these first 4 months have been!!!

Now for the pictures...I have lots...Hope you enjoy!

My little basketball player, or should I say soccer player? I walked in the room, and he was holding the basketball in the air with his feet!

Carson was all dressed up to go celebrate Mommy's birthday! I guess he wasn't happy about Mommy turning 30 either!

I am sure that Carson is going to love this picture when he gets older. We were having to make due while spending some time at Granna and Grandy's.
