Sandestin 2012

This last week we were blessed with the opportunity to go visit one of our favorite places, Sandestin, FL.  This was Carson's 2nd time to the beach, but I don't think he remembered last year's trip:).  This year, my mom, dad, sister, brother, and sister-in-law joined us for the journey.  This was my parent's and sister's first time to Florida.  We rented a suburban and traveled 14 hours down there and 13 hours back.  My little man was a trooper the whole trip.  Thanks to great friends, we were able to borrow a portable dvd player so he enjoyed watching Elmo and the other "cartoons".  I had packed many zip-lock baggies full of activities to keep him entertained.  He also enjoyed many snacks on the road.  We  also turned his carseat around for the first time, so it was seeing the world from a totally different perspective.  Here are many pictures of our journey!  We wish we were still there!!!

Carson loved digging in the sand and making "soup".

Grandy and C blowing bubbles.

Sweet KK and C.  This year the seagrass was the worst we had ever seen.  Typically, the ocean is so clear.  This was our first day at the beach, and the worst seagrass day!

At the Destin Harbor

McGuire's had dollar bills everywhere.  It almost felt like we were in a cave!

Don't know why I think this picture is soooooo funny!

Celebrating Uncle J's 35th birthday for the "first" time!

Daddy and Carson enjoying snuggle time and cartoons!
We took a boat ride to seek out dolphins!  Thankfullly, we were able to see several!

Carson on his first train ride!  He is fascinated with trains right now (in addition to lawn mowers)!

Carson dancing the night away with KK.  He put on a show and got an ovation at the end of the song!  Not sure where he gets this from!

Why don't we live here???

19 Months-old

19 Months-old: Mr. Inquisitive
Well, I am a little behind in posting this month.  Our internet has been going off sporadically, and it seems that it is always not working when I actually have a chance to post.  The summer is flying by.  We have been blessed to have my sister here for the first part of the summer!  Carson continues to amaze me each day by the things he says and the love he has for everyone.  He is a very loving, sweet boy to everyone he meets.  He is talking up a storm.  I love to hear what he is thinking about.  Yesterday morning, he was singing a little song in his crib that he created..."Oh, where oh where could my mommy be?  Oh, where oh where could she be."  It isn't quite that clear, but we know what he is saying.  His other favorite line is asking "where" different people are..."Where K.K.?".  Along with that, he wants to know "what" people are doing..."What daddy doing?".  He continues to be fascinated with trucks, tractors, and tools.  We have been watching the splash pad go up in our neighborhood.  He has loved watching the process.  We actually were able to go last week, and he had a blast!  We all did.  You will see in the pictures below.  This past month, C has become a little more of a picky eater.  He is using his independence a little more as he continues this toddler stage.  I realize through what I do that it is temporary and will get better.  Just last week, we reduced him to one nap a day.  It is working so far.  He is sleeping later in the mornings and getting a good nap after lunch.  As C gets older, I hope I remember all of these little things.  It is the main reason I write them down.  It is amazing what life looks like through the eyes of a child:)  Now for the pictures!  Enjoy:)

Carson loves his blankets!  This one was made my Martha Wright and is especially a favorite.  He also has a fascination with "two".  He asks for two of everything.  So...how many blankets does little man sleep with?  You guessed it.  Two.

Here is Carson participating in his first VBS.  Yes, he was a little young for the 2 year-old class so K.K. tagged along beside to help with some of the tasks.  He loved it!  Now every Sunday he asks for "more puppets".

Carson giving his best friend, Trinity, a big hug or something like that.

Just look at those smiles:)
