Celebrating 3 Months!

Everyone said that the months would fly by, but I nevered imagined that it would go this quickly! Today, we are celebrating 3 months with our precious little boy! The past few weeks we have enjoyed celebrating with Carson all of his milestones. Carson is consistently only waking up one time in the night for a mid-night snack and then, quickly goes back to bed! We have officially transitioned him to sleeping in his crib. On the 21st, Carson rolled over for the first time! Wow! He is "talking" all of the time to whoever will listen. I just love that little voice. I don't know if he gets all of that talking from his daddy or maybe it is because his mommy is a speech pathologist. He continues to love the long "o" sound but is beginning to demonstrate a variety of other sounds. He is constantly checking out his surroundings and seeing who is around. Carson is looking at toys and even some books. He is also beginning to explore more with those precious hands. He is holding on to burp cloths, bibs, clothing, and my favorite, "hair"!

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the past couple of weeks of our sweet little boy!

"Just look at my belly!"

"You can't see me, Mommy!"

This was Carson's first night to sleep in his crib. Per doctor recommendation, he is sleeping in his carseat to help with his reflux. Hopefully, someday he will be able to stretch out without it!

"Poofy cheeks!"

"Do you think that I could fit both of these hands in my mouth?"

Hanging out with Nannie!

"I love my Daddy!

Hanging out with Grandy on a beautiful sunny day!

Kelli, Logan, Morgan, Lauren, and Carson

Can you guess who turned 20 and who is ABOUT to be 30? Yikes!

Yes, she is the one who is the big 2-0!

Hanging out with Pop!

"Man, this guy is funny!"

On Sunday, Pop completed his first marathon in under 5 hours despite the hurricane like winds! We are so proud of him and his huge accomplishment! In April, Pop will run the Boston marathon. You are going to do great, Pop!

Last but definitely not least, here is Carson with his favorite Mimi!

Fun with Friends

The past few weeks have been filled with visiting friends. During the snow days, we were blessed to see Jeff, Kera, Hannah, and their new addition, Harper. Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures of our new little ones together. Maybe next time!

Then, last weekend, my college roommate, Kelly, and her husband, Craig, came down from the chilling city of Chicago. We thoroughly enjoyed our time together. We were able to soak up the sun by going to the Stockyards, the park, and the lake. We also enjoyed a night out to P.F. Changs, a little cheesecake from the Cheesecake factory, and some high school basketball action! What a week! I can't wait for our next visit!

Carson took to his adopted "Aunt Kelly" very quickly!

He was also very entertained by his adopted "Uncle Craig".

"Let's Go Mustangs!"

Carson and Coach "Daddy" after a win!

We were also able to see our friends, Brian, Amanda, Sloan, and their new addition, Owen! Owen is five weeks older than Carson.

Carson's first trip to the park! What a beautiful day!!!!

Just look at that sweet little face!

My two Valentines!

"You sure you guys don't want to move a little further south?"

"I'm king of the world!"

Carson's Dr Appt

Well, despite all the weather, we finally made it to Carson's two month check-up! Carson weighed in at 10 lbs, 1 oz and was 23 inches long. He is in the 31st percentile for his weight and 73rd percentile for his height! Let's see how long that lasts. He was a trooper and received 3 shots like a big boy! We praise and thank God for continuing to bless us with a healthy baby boy!

Happy Birthday, Mimi!

Last Saturday night we celebrated Mimi's birthday at our house. It had been a long week inside as the snow had kept us all stuck around the house for the past 4 days. Mimi was anxiously waiting to get to come see Carson, so we invited her over to celebrate her birthday. Pop couldn't come because he had to deal with a flood at the bank (the pipes froze because of the cold weather), and I am sure he will be over soon to make up for missed time :). Mimi and Carson got to spend a bunch of time together, and Mimi got some great smiles and good conversation from Carson. We celebrated with some of Randi's new food creations (a pasta soup and an AMAZING Butterfinger cake). It was a fun night to spend together. As a son, it has been a great gift to watch my mother and father be so happy everytime they see Carson's sweet face. I am sure they were happy to have me 29 years ago, but I think they have been even more excited about Carson! lol HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Mom/Mimi! We love you!!!

Let It Snow...Let It Snow!

After experiencing warm temperatures over the weekend, Tuesday through Friday of last week was well...You can probably figure it out.

The view from our doorstep!

Carson spent some of his time snuggled up with Mom in her robe.

Then, he spent lots of time with Daddy!

Last, but not least, we spent a lot of time playing!

Granna's Birthday Celebration

On January 28th, Granna turned....just kidding! I know she wouldn't care if I told, but it is a Thurmon thing! On the 29th, we were able to get away for a night to help her celebrate. The highlight of the party had to be the cake! Too bad I don't have a picture! Those who were there will know what I am talking about:)! Anyway, we had a wonderful weekend with lots of sunshine!

This chair has rocked many children so the legacy continues!

Carson enjoyed time OUTSIDE without his socks! Look at those cute toes!

We weren't quiet sure which animal Grandy was imitating, but Carson loved it!

Little man is all ready to go worship God! He looks sooooo big!

There goes Grandy again, but Carson continues to enjoy it!

The BIRTHDAY LADY! She looks amazing at only 40!

Happy Two Month Birthday!!!!

It is hard to believe that our little angel is already TWO MONTHS OLD! This past month, Carson's personality has started to shine! Those smiles are contagious and oh so precious! They make my day to say the least! Carson has started smiling at familiar voices and faces. He is sleeping at night anywhere from 5-8 hours. Yeah! Our biggest challenge is nap time. He really would like to take a nap while snuggling in someone's arms, which I love but there are some things that have to get done!

Carson is all dressed up to go to church. He is in between sizes right now. His newborn clothes are too small, but the 0-3 month clothes are too large!

Every morning, we have been having play time! Carson has started following objects consistently. He also enjoys listening to his personalized cd during this time!

Here Carson is "enjoying" tummy time! You can probably gather from the expression in the mirror how much he really loved it!

This picture was taken when Carson sat in his bumbo chair for the first time. He wasn't too sure what to think about it. It only lasted a few minutes!

On Monday, Carson took his first nap in his crib. It only lasted for 30 minutes, but that's a start! Right?

I love this picture! It really captures our little man over the past month! Carson, I pray that you will always be a joyful child. We have so much to be thankful for, and I truly pray that you will see the joy in that each day of your life!

Last, but not least, here is a picture of Carson and his daddy!

The Past Few Weeks

For those of you who do not get to see our little man on a regular basis, here are a few pictures. You will probably notice that those little cheeks are starting to fill out and that smile is becoming even more precious! We have truly enjoyed each and every day that God has given us with him. I am constantly reminded of God's love each and every time I look at this sweet boy!

Carson and Grandy

Yeah, I know. It looks like he has on shoulder pads! I promise he doesn't.

"You REALLY do rock, Aunt KK."

Isn't he handsome?

"Love you, Aunt KK." "Thanks for giving me a bath!"

Carson has finally found himself in the mirror above his swing. He also loves watching the birds rotate above him!

Carson has also started smiling at familiar faces. Could it get any cuter than that?
