10 Months-Old

Today, Carson turns 10 months-old. I feel like he should be more like 3 months-old, but that's what happens when you're having fun! Even though, we have our moments, I absolutely love the stage he is in. Yes, it is lots of work. But...I love seeing life through the eyes of a child. The things that have been important have proven to be insignificant and right now my focus is on my family. I can't tell you how many times I prayed for a healthy and happy little boy, and God has blessed us with this and more. Carson, you bring so much joy to us and those around you. You have that sparkle that stops just about everyone everywhere we go. To sum it up, one of the cashier men said that you made his day. It is amazing what a smile can do!

Carson is crawling and cruising everywhere. He is showing interest in walking and is taking up to 10 steps. We are not rushing the matter. He will walk when he is ready! He wants to explore everything. He loves his toys, but he gets tired of them and would much rather go find the cool stuff in the pantry or cabinets. He is babbling so much. We have the "dada" and "mama" down, and I have to say that there is meaning behind those words now. Carson is very attentive to his surroundings and continues to be very inquisitive. His new "thing" is shaking his head as if he is saying "no". It is the cutest little thing, right now! He has also learned to wave! He does it very appropriately! Carson's sleeping has varied over the past few weeks. Thankfully last night, he was back to sleeping all through the night as compared to the night before when he cried for almost 2 hours before going to bed. I am not sure what that was about! He continues to fall asleep with his pacifier but is pretty content without it the rest of the day. He still has NO teeth, but the teething continues. AND...one of my biggest praises is that his tear duct officially opened up the day after I asked for prayers. Only one thing could be said about that...God is listening! So...lots of love goes out to all of you. And...now for what you have all been waiting for...PICTURES:)))

Carson is eating pretty much anything that I put on his tray. We will see how long that lasts. Here he is loving his turkey and avacado bites. I also have to say that he has a sweet tooth like his mommy. This weekend he enjoyed a few mini bites of frozen yogurt and several bites of a blueberry muffin and a pumpkin muffin. I should have known!

A sweet little boy getting ready to go to the park with mommy! The hat is soooo cute, but do you think he would keep it on???

Carson swinging for the first time. I think he was more interested in the cars and the others playing than actually being on the swing.

Carson coming down the slide! I have a feeling we are going to be doing this a lot over the next few years!

Carson enjoying a picnic at the park on a beautiful day! Here he is examining the bite of turkey before he gobbles it up!

If Carson had a signature pose, this would be it!

Carson checking out the grass. He loves feeling of different textures!

Just look at that belly and those muscles!

"You can't catch me!" Just this week, Carson has started playing "chase" with mommy. He will start crawling as fast as he can and giggle. He will look back in hopes that mommy is coming to tickle him.

A Busy Day for a Busy Boy!

Yesterday, Carson and his daddy went on an adventure to go see his great-grandparents. I enjoyed a pretty quiet day at home since I woke up with pink-eye! No fun! Carson enjoyed a day of celebrating his great-Grandma's birthday, seeing family, and showing off all his new skills.

That little boy is going to be walking before we know it. He took about 10 steps on Friday!

Carson and Pop! From what I heard, Carson had Pop-itis yesterday! Guess he's been missing you!

Happy Birthday, Grandma! There is no way that those numbers are right on that cake!

Well, it is getting harder these days to snag a great picture. This was the best I could get as Carson headed off to Bible class this morning. We thought he looked "oh..so cute!".

Sweet Pictures...

Have I told you how much that I love this little boy?

I see a piano in your future...or maybe a guitar!

I love this picture! I can remember mom reading to me, so it is so sweet that Carson gets the opportunity for her to read to him!

Labor Day Weekend

Well, school has started, and our family's schedule has steadily become busier and busier! I was reminded last night by a friend about how important it is to cherish the little moments in life. There is so much in this life that we take for granted. Our friends...our families...and all the beauty that God has given us. So...as I woke up at 5:05 this morning...I worked out and spent time with God. I wish I could say that it is my daily routine. Maybe someday! I was reminded in Phillipians that my attitude should be that of Christ and that even Christ humbled himself, became a servant, became obedient, made himself nothing...Somedays being a stay at home mom is tiring. The chores never end. The routine is pretty much the same. BUT these are the reasons that I do it: my God...my husband...my son...my family...the list goes on and on! I am so thankful to get to stay at home and raise the most precious gift of this life. I hope that there is not a day that goes by that our sweet little Carson doesn't experience his mom and dad's love for God, for each other, and for those around us.

I love this picture because you can really see his eyes! I just love those baby blues!

Carson and Grandy! I am not sure who liked the toys more!

Guess who he is about to get??? Lucy, the dog!

Carson helping Granna cook! (And..yes, he did turn on the water all by himself!)

Hanging out with KK! We just love that girl!!!

"Peek-a-boo!!"

Could the weather be any more beautiful? We just love being outside!

I wonder what's going through that little boy's mind! Do you think the thought "climb" was in it?

Dr. Appointment Today

Today, I took Carson to his 9-month check-up. Praise God that he continues to be a healthy little boy! For our family...Carson weighed 17.3 lbs and was 27 inches tall. He continues to be in the 10th percentile for his weight, but as the doctor said "That's where he has always been." So...once again we are extremely thankful for a great report! He got his flu shot today, and they had to prick his finger as a routine procedure to test for anemia. When he SAW the shot, he start screaming but didn't even flinch at the prick (eventhough blood was going everywhere!). The nurse put multiple bandages and tape on his finger to stop the bleeding, but my sweet little one managed to pull it all off in the car. (Not sure how he did that!) On a side note, I would ask that you all pray for his little eye. His tear duct still hasn't opened, but the past two days it hasn't been near as bad. So...I am going to put the call off to the ophthalmologist for a few more weeks in hopes that it will open completely!

Love you all!

9 Months-old

Yesterday, Brandon and I were able to celebrate nine precious months with our little Carson. This month has been filled with so many changes. Carson is now crawling, cruising along furniture, and showing signs of walking independently! Yikes! Our little man is interested in everything especially playing in the closet and in the pantry. I love watching him make new discoveries each day and that look that crosses his face when he accomplishes a new task. Yes, he is keeping me on my toes but what joy it is to see the world from the eyes of a child! Carson is continuing to sleep though the night most of the time. He is eating 3 big boy meals a day! He loves his fruits but is becoming a little picky with his meats and veggies. He is able to feed himself crackers, puffs, and Cheerios. He is working on feeding himself diced peaches and pears. They're just a little too slippery! He is continuing to babble up a storm using a variety of sounds. Carson continues to not have any teeth, but he is working on that. I figure those bottom two will be here anytime! And...last but not least...one of my favorite times is every evening as Brandon reads him his Bible story. Carson giggles and giggles and giggles bringing a huge smile to his mommy's and daddy's face at the end of every day! Now...for LOTS of pictures! Enjoy:)
