The Christmas Season

This Christmas season was filled with fun.  The endless list started with going to tree lightings, to watching parades, to looking at lights, to making cookies, to sharing God's love with others.  Carson was very much into all things Christmas.  We loved each moment!

A Visit with Carson's Favorite Author

I am not sure how many 3 year-olds have a favorite author, but Carson does.  Eric Litwin, the author of 4 of the Pete the Cat books, has stolen Carson's heart with his catchy lyrics and musical abilities.  Carson can quote all four of his books and sing all of the songs with his guitar.  I am so excited that Carson has a passion for music and books.  We can already tell that music is going to have a big part in his life as he continues to grow!

HAPPY...HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY!

This past week, we celebrated three years of having Carson in our lives.  Since it is hard to share a birthday with Thanksgiving day, we celebrated a little early this year.  Carson had his first "friend" party!  It ended up being a little windier than I had hoped but overall it was a beautiful day.  We started the party at the park on McDonwell School Road.  After fire truck races, pizza, and fun with friends with got to experience the nearby fire station.  Mimi and Pop used to live in this neighborhood so we have passed the fire station many times. The firemen were so nice, and we are so thankful that they opened their doors for us to look around.  The kids loved the fire trucks, but the siren was a little too loud. Hopefully, these men will never have to come to our house, but if they do hopefully we are all a little more prepared!  After the party, we had the "after party" with just family.  Carson loved exploring his new gifts and spending time with all the people that he loves so much.  Thanks to everyone who made this day so special for our little boy!  We love you all!

Colton and Marta's Wedding

This past weekend, we spent our time out at the "Ranch" celebrating a new chapter in the lives of Colton and Marta.  On November 9, 2013, Brandon was honored to officiate their ceremony and Carson was the ring bearer.  The weather was absolutely beautiful, and the entire weekend was a reminder that our son may not live in the country but he is country boy at heart.

It was Carson's idea to pull his wagon down the aisle with the ring pillow, but 2 minutes before showtime he started crying.  Mommy ended up walking him halfway down the aisle where Uncle Colton swept him up in his arms and carried him the rest of the way.

Wash..Wash..Wash the Jeep

On Friday, Carson was able to spend some Daddy/Carson time while mama prepared to host a shower at the house.  It didn't take long before they  (well, one of them) was in their underwear...

Love this boy!

Our First Homework Assignment: Bearington Bear

Preschool is in full swing, and Carson loves it!  A few weeks ago, it was Carson's turn to take the class mascot home.  On a typical weekend, we try to do lots of fun family activities especially with the amazing weather.  Unfortunately, the weekend that Bearington was able to come home with us, we were in the smack middle of kitchen remodel.  So with painters in and out all weekend, this was the best we could do with our cuddly little friend.

It has been our family tradition (since I was a little girl) to enjoy doughnuts on Saturday morning.  C has loved carrying on this tradition and was overjoyed to take Bearington to our local doughnut shop.

Bearington was also blessed to go see Ms. Erica, our favorite hairdresser.

Bearington also enjoyed a trip to our park.  We visit this park at least 2-3 times a week!

Last but not least, Bearington got to visit our other favorite place, the library.

PUMPKIN FARM

October has come and gone, but what a fun month it has been.  We waited for 11 months for our neighborhood pumpkin farm to open!  We have watched the farmers prepare the soil, plant the corn, and cut the maze.  I am not sure how many total times we went, but what a fun time we had with numerous friends and family.  We thoroughly enjoyed the brisket tacos, roasted corn, kettle corn, the tractors, the pumkins, and of course the "HAYRIDE"!  Thursday was a sad day when it closed.  ONLY ELEVEN more months of waiting!

We love this place!  Happy October!

Happy Birthday to (Great) GRANDMA!

Earlier in September, we had the blessing to celebrate Brandon's Grandma's 90th birthday.  Sorry, Grandma to tell your age, but you look amazing and in no way act your age!  We went to Brandon's cousin's house for the big event.  Carson loved opening the presents.  Thankfully, Grandma didn't mind!

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Preschool Time

It seems like just yesterday, we were praying for a baby and this week Carson headed off to preschool.  Yes, it is only from 9:00-2:00 a couple of days a week but for a mama it is still hard to put your child's learning into the hands of someone else.  I love the school that we chose for that very reason.  They treat it like a school, but God's handprints are in everything that they do.  I love that he has a verse to practice this week, and that this week's focus is not just the color blue, circles, and number 0, but that it's also to learn to be a great friend.  His teacher has been amazing, and we are only one week into this process.  I am so thankful for God helping us make the right choice, and I am confident that it is HIM because many prayers went up about all of these decisions.  Here are some pictures of our little man's first day of school...PRESCHOOL!
